Getting started

What Project Cherenkov is, how the syllabus, materials and editorials fit together, and where to begin.

Last updated October 11, 2026

Project Cherenkov is an Indonesian olympiad (OSN) editorial archive and study planner for informatics, physics and astronomy. Each editorial writes up one idea in full, whether a proof, a derivation or a technique, and comes with a working interactive visualization that you can change and step through.

You do not need an account to read anything. Accounts only unlock the optional study planner.

The three sections

The site follows the official OSN syllabus, and three sections hang off it:

SectionWhat it isBest for
SyllabusThe official scope for each subject, topic by topic, showing which topics already have a material and editorials.Seeing what you are expected to know.
MaterialsShort, unsigned breakdowns of individual syllabus topics. No visualization requirement.Revising a topic quickly.
EditorialsThe archive proper: a full proof plus an interactive visualization.Understanding why something is true, or why a common mistake is a mistake.

Open any of them from the Archive entry in the navigation bar.

How editorials are organised

The archive is indexed by principle (the general idea an editorial teaches) and error type (the specific mistake it corrects). It is not indexed by chapter, so you can arrive with a particular mistake or a particular idea in mind. Use the filters at the top of the archive to narrow by subject, principle or error type.

To browse by topic instead, start from the syllabus.

Languages

The interface is available in Indonesian and English. Switch with the ID / EN control in the header. Each editorial and material is written in one language and appears as written in both interfaces.
